PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state imaging element, a method for driving the solid-state imaging element, and electronic equipment, capable of accurately and properly performing black level correction while avoiding expansion of a layout area.SOLUTION: A solid-state imaging element comprises: an effective pixel unit arranged in a matrix and having a plurality of first photoelectric conversion units which photoelectrically converts incident light to generate a first electric charge; an optical black unit arranged at least in a part around the effective pixel unit and having a plurality of second photoelectric conversion units which are covered by a light-shielding film and generate a second electric charge; a plurality of vertical transfer units which are provided in each column of the effective pixel unit and the optical black unit, and transfer the first and second electric charges; and a horizontal transfer unit which transfers the first and second electric charges transferred from the vertical transfer unit. When transferring the first and second electric charges transferred from the vertical transfer unit, the horizontal transfer unit first transfers the first electric charge and then transfers the second electric charge after delaying it for a fixed period of time. |
