An electric parking brake control device for controlling a motor for driving a friction material of an electric parking brake is provided with a processing unit which starts the motor in order to drive the friction material in the direction in which the electric parking brake is brought into a locked state, measures the current value of the motor that is in operation, in accordance with a predetermined rule that defines the correlation between the cutoff current value of the motor and the current increase rate in which braking force required in the locked state of the electric parking brake is exhibited, determines the cutoff current value from the measured current value of the motor, and stops the motor when the current value of the motor reaches the determined cutoff current value.
