This invention relates to a portable information terminal having a function to receive digital broadcasts. Information of Doppler frequency is estimated from received waves. A traveling speed is estimated on the basis of the estimated information of Doppler frequency. A parameter of FFT window is determined in accordance with the estimated traveling speed.
