PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary damper that effectively prevents transmission of vibration and an image forming device having the rotary damper.SOLUTION: A vibration preventing section 75 has a plurality of deformation sections 77 (77a-77c). The deformation sections 77 (77a-77c) are formed of first, second and third viscoelastic bodies, respectively. The modulus of elasticity of each of the first to third viscoelastic bodies which are deformed by rotating power, changes with time. When a rotary damper 70 transmits a use drive torque within a predetermined range to a photoreceptor drum 13, the rotary damper 70 changes with time to generate a state where both deformation sections 77a, 77b are compressively deformed instead of a state where only the deformation section 77a is compressively deformed. When the rotary damper 70 further changes with time, the deformation sections 77a-77c can be compressively deformed instead of a state where the deformation sections 77a, 77b are compressively deformed. |
