PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress occurrence of a situation in which an electrode cannot be disposed on a flange of a cap as intended because of error in manufacturing the cap.SOLUTION: A cap 10 includes a body part 11, and a flange 12 extending from a base end connected to the body part 11 along the direction coming away from the body part 11. The flange 12 includes a placement surface on which an electrode is placed at the time of resistance welding, with a dimple 15 formed near the border between the placement surface and an outer peripheral surface of the body part 11. The placement surface does not have an R surface outside a virtual line extended downward from the outer peripheral surface of the part 11. A method of manufacturing the cap 10 equipped with a conductive aspherical lens that is fixed to a mounting board 1 by resistance welding includes a grinding step for machining a matrix of stainless steel using a cutting blade to manufacture the body part 11 and the flange 12 as one body, and a step of providing an aspherical lens 20 inside the cap 10. |
