PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve channel registration which is not based on proper area information to channel registration which is based on proper area information in a television receiver.SOLUTION: When an external device 2 is connected, a television receiver 1 transmits area information adopted by channel registration setting, to the external device 2. Next, the television receiver 1 acquires matching determination information given from the external device 2 (information representing whether positional information acquired by the external device 2 using a GPS function and the area information transmitted from the television receiver 1 match) and determines whether the channel registration setting has been performed on the basis of proper area information, from the matching determination information. If determining that the channel registration setting has not been performed on the basis of proper area information, the television receiver 1 displays a notification screen 40 to notify a user of information to quicken channel registration setting. |
