Provided is a mobile terminal device by which ample strength can be ensured without a complex chassis structure, and which offers a thinner device profile and a narrower frame for the display. This mobile terminal device is provided with: a chassis (50) of a structure open at one side and having in the interior thereof a housing space; a metallic plate-shaped frame (20) housed along the surface of the opening within the housing space, for holding internal components; and a display (10) of panel shape secured to the chassis (50) so as to fill in the opening. The chassis (50), the plate-shaped frame (20), and the display (10) are stacked together in that order, and a riser part (22a) that rises up towards the opposite side of the display (10) is formed at the peripheral edge of the plate-shaped frame (20).
