PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for dressing an outer peripheral cutting edge, by which a cutting edge part of the outer peripheral cutting edge can be dressed efficiently and excellently, so that the outer peripheral cutting edge can obtain excellent cutting performance efficiently and surely.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for dressing an outer peripheral cutting edge which has a cutting edge part including abrasive grains and a metal or alloy for connecting the abrasive grains to one another. The method comprises: clamping the cutting edge part 11 between a pair of circular tools 2 so that the cutting edge part 11 is projected from the outer peripheral end of the circular tool 2; immersing the clamped cutting edge part in an electropolishing liquid; positioning counter electrodes 4, 5, 6 respectively on the outer peripheral side of the cutting edge part and on both side face sides thereof; and electropolishing the cutting edge part to electrolytically remove a part of the metal or alloy constituting the cutting edge part 11 or the cutting chips packed in chip pockets on the surface of the cutting edge part 11, so that the cutting edge part 11 keeps such a state that the abrasive grains are projected partially. |
