PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon fiber bundle which can provide a carbon fiber web excellent in fiber dispersibility of carbon fibers at the time of paper-making and also excellent in mechanical property and appearance when formed into a molding.SOLUTION: A method for producing a carbon fiber web 20 including a carbon fiber bundle (a) and at least one kind of other carbon fiber bundle (b) 17, comprises: preparing the carbon fiber bundle (a) including a single fiber at 1.00-1.05 of a surface area rate and the carbon fiber bundle (b) 17 including a single fiber at 1.06 or more of a surface area rate; and papermaking a reinforcing fiber bundle composed of 30-99 mass% of a carbon fiber bundle (a) and 1-70 mass% of a carbon fiber bundle (b) 17 (in which a contact angle with water of the single fiber forming the carbon fiber bundle (a), which is measured by a Wilhelmy method, is more than 40° and that of the carbon fiber bundle (b) 17 is 40° or less, and the reinforcing fiber bundle including 30-99 mass% of the carbon fiber bundle (a) and 1-70 mass% of the carbon fiber bundle (b) 17 is excluded). |
