PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heartbeat detector capable of reliably detecting a measurement object person's heartbeat in a noncontact and unrestrained state.SOLUTION: A heartbeat detector includes: a radio transmission means for transmitting a radio frequency signal to a measurement object person's predetermined region; a radio reception means for receiving the radio frequency signal transmitted through the measurement object person's body; a detection means for detecting the received radio frequency signal by a phase or amplitude; and a heartbeat detecting means for detecting the measurement object person's heartbeat from the detected signal. Preferably, the predetermined region is the chest.
