PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid risk of having a collision accident which is imminent when an unexpected object in a driver's blind spot suddenly appears in point-blank range in the traveling direction of a vehicle while driving.SOLUTION: A vehicle collision risk avoidance system comprises: a vehicle collision risk prediction device including first image capturing means which generates a first image obtained by detecting an electromagnetic wave with a wavelength in the millimeter or submillimeter waveband, first detection means which detects a predefined object by processing the first image generated by the first image capturing means, and risk prediction means which generates collision avoidance information for controlling a host vehicle when the predefined object is detected by the first detection means; and a vehicle controller which includes vehicle speed control means and controls the host vehicle. Upon reception of the collision avoidance information generated by the risk prediction means of the vehicle collision risk prediction device, the vehicle controller uses the vehicle speed control means to control the speed of the host vehicle on the basis of the collision avoidance information.
