BRAKE APPARATUS

This brake apparatus is provided with: a reservoir tank (RSV) integrally fitted to a master cylinder (M/C); an intake oil passage (16) connecting an intake portion (22a) of a pump (P) and the reservoir tank (RSV); a depressurization oil passage (32) connecting the intake oil passage (16) and a wheel cylinder (W/C); and a normally closed depressurization valve (30) fitted to the depressurization oil passage (32) which is opened when depressurizing a brake fluid in the wheel cylinder (W/C) to return the brake fluid back to the reservoir tank (RSV) via the intake oil passage (16). The intake oil passage (16) is provided with a normally closed reservoir shutoff valve (31) in series with the depressurization valve (30) with respect to the wheel cylinder (W/C) and the reservoir tank (RSV).
