PURPOSE: A sediment reduction method and a sediment-reducing process system are provided to minimize the amount of impurities to incinerate separating sediments into the impurities which are able to be incinerated and sands which is able to be recycled through a phased process and to maximize the amount of sands contained in the sediments. CONSTITUTION: A sediment reduction method includes the following steps; (i) storing sediments in a storage hopper; (ii) separating the sediments stored in the storage hopper into mixture of impurities, seeds, and sends by moving the sediments with a rotary type screen sorter; (iii) removing moisture in the impurities moving with a first screw press; (iv) separating the mixture of the seeds and the sands into the seeds and the sands moving with a drum screen; (v) removing moisture of seeds moving with a second screw press; (vi) exporting the seeds with the impurities and the moisture removed to outside; and (vii) exporting sands after washing with the air blown from a lower side of a sand washer by moving the sands with the sand washer.
