<p>A mount for an accessory for a firearm having a Picatinny rail. The mount includes a chassis with one or more locking devices. Each locking device includes a lever that moves a plate into engagement with the Picatinny rail to clamp the mount to the rail. Each locking device also includes an actuator which not only moves the plate into engagement with the Picatinny rail but includes a self-tightening mechanism in which a nut and bolt arrangement are tightened by movement of the lever from a first position to a second position while at the same time bringing the plate into engagement with the rail. Each locking device also includes an automatic locking feature for locking the lever in position and a mechanism for preventing accidental operation of the actuator.</p> |
