<p>A sounding device 1 for a vehicle (e.g. a childs scooter or bicycle) with a tubular frame member has an actuating means 19, an amplification element 13, and a sound source (23, figure 4), wherein at least a portion of the tubular frame member 3 is disposed between the actuating means 19 and the amplification element 13 and the actuating means 19 and the amplification element 13 are configured with at least a portion of the tubular frame member 3 such that actuation of sound of the sounding device 23 occurs via the tubular frame member 3. In an embodiment, the actuation means 19 is a squeezable bulb, the tubular frame member 3 is a handlebar, the amplification element 13 is a flared horn and the sounding device 23 is a reed. The bulb 19 and horn 13 may be integrally moulded with handlebar grips 9. Electrical components may also be used. The arrangement provides a means by which a sounder or horn may be provided on a vehicle having handle bars such as a childs scooter or bicycle whereby the sounding device is readily and safely operable.</p> |
