Class 16 A holder for a golf score card; adapted to be mounted on the handle a of a wheeled golf club carrier, comprises two sheet metal or other hinged leaves d each forming a support for one page of a folded score card, the leaves d being so formed that they may be closed to enclose the score card or opened to provide a substantially flat rigid backing for the card, means being provided for retaining the leaves in either position and for locating the leaves in substantially the same plane when in open position. Each leaf d is pivoted at one edge by means of projecting pegs e, between lugs b, c bent up at right angles to a frame strip u, the other edges of the leaf having narrow flanges f, f and g and the leaves being of slightly different sizes so that the flanges f interfit and enclose the score card. The flanges g are are of part cylindrical section to enclose a pencil h when in the closed position, the pencil h having a cord k for attachment to the handle d. At the opposite end, part of flange f is cut away to leave cranked arms I connected by a tension spring m which holds the leaves in open or closed position. In the open position the arms l engage with the side edges of lug c which form a stop for the leaves locating them in substantially the same plane. An elastic cord n between the lugs b, c secures the card to the holder. The inner surfaces of the leaves a may be provided with permanent markings p as on a score card and the surface may be matt or otherwise treated to take pencil marks. The holder is mounted on the handle a by two clips, each comprising a flexible band q fitting round the handle a, the ends of the band overlapping and pierced to take a nut. A V- shaped saddle s fits over the band and against the handle and is secured to the frame strip u by a screw which passes through the nut to tighten the band q.</p> |
