Class 133 A sleeping bag is constructed with the known padded upper layer while the under layer comprises inflatable members of narrow width with or without padding of eiderdown or the like. As shown the upper layer comprises sheets 4. 5 between which eiderdown &c. is arranged preferably in compartments formed by fabric divisions while inflatable members 3 are arranged between sheets 1, 2 to form the under layer also preferably in compartments. A hood having a draw cord arranged in the hem 11 may be provided an inflatable pillow being arranged in the hood. A removable inner bag 14<SP>1</SP>, 14<SP>2</SP> may be provided. Fig. 5 shows a method of cutting a sheet of material to form the sheets 1, 2 and 4, 5 to give a narrow foot end and a broader head end, and to avoid waste of material the sheet is cut along the line a, b one part is then reversed and the two parts brought together and stitched with the edge c, f in contact with the edge e, d.
