The method involves defining a regulation output value to regulate a web tension in a first product-web section (12). An actuating command for first actuator is derived from the regulation output value. An actuating command for second actuator is derived from the regulation output value and a delay element so as to decouple the web tension in the second product web section (23). The effect of the regulation output value on the actuating command for the second actuator is delayed by a delay time required to run the product web through the delay section. An independent claim is included for a computing device for regulating web tension in processing machine used for processing product web.
