The driver stand comprises a display device for display of information, which is visually observed by a driver (27) of the vehicle during the journey, where the display device has a screen (11). An operating element (6) is provided for controlling a drive system or a brake system of the vehicle, particularly a traction or brake lever. The operating element is located lateral to the location of a driver seat (25) or laterally before the location of the driver seat. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing a driver stand of a track-bound vehicle, particularly a rail vehicle.
