<p>An iron-based mixed powder for powder metallurgy which comprises an iron-based powder, a graphite powder, a copper powder, and a composite oxide, wherein the composite oxide has a viscosity as measured at 800°C of 105 (poises) or lower and is contained in an amount of 0.05-1.5 mass% based on the whole mixed powder. The iron-based mixed powder for powder metallurgy can give an iron powder sinter having improved machinability while retaining intact strength. This iron powder sinter can inhibit tool wear to improve the life of the tool because the composite oxide contained in the iron powder sinter melts during cutting to produce a lubricating effect.</p> |
