PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a power conversion apparatus and a train deterioration detecting system, capable of detecting deterioration based on an actual situation, even with regard to parts in which there is dispersion in life determining elements. SOLUTION: The power conversion apparatus 1, which is connected to a network in a train and used for controlling the propulsion of the train, includes a memory 9 which stores parts data 22 inside its own power conversion apparatus 1 and parts data 15-19 inside other power conversion apparatus, a processing unit 20 which performs predetermined processing for the parts data 15-19, and a comparison unit 23 which compares a processing result 21 output by the processing unit with the parts data 22 and outputs a deterioration detection signal 30 that indicates that the parts built in the own power conversion apparatus 1 are more deteriorating than the parts built in the other power conversion apparatus.
