PURPOSE: An operation method of a station in a WLAN system and an apparatus thereof are provided to enable an unlicensed device to select a channel to operate in the WLAN. CONSTITUTION: A transceiver (780) receives a second frame. The second frame includes information about an available channel on the basis of geographical position information of a station (750) in the form of white space map (WSM). The second frame includes the result of query. A processor (730) is operationally connected to the transceiver. The processor selects a channel among the available channels according to the received WSM to start the transmission of a signal in a WLAN.
