The unit has an electric motor (1) driving a wheel of an electric vehicle. An air-conditioning compressor (12) includes an air-conditioning system that is driven by the motor. A shiftable clutch (17) is arranged in a torque flux between the motor and a drivenable wheel. A differential gear (3) balances rotational speeds between driven wheels of the vehicle. The motor and the compressor are coaxially arranged on a drive shaft (4) of the differential gear. Another electric motor (2) drives the wheels of the vehicle and stays in torque flux with the gear via an overriding gear (11).
