Class 45 Means for mounting a standard e for a guardrail or hand-rail on a gas-holder in which the roof sheets a are connected to the peripheral wall sheets b by angle curbs c comprises a plate cleat f of angle form which straddles the corner at the junction of the roof and wall of the holder and is held in position by nuts g, h, on the ends of a cranked-bolt j which extends across the corner on the inside and of which the ends project through openings drilled or cut in the roof and wall-sheets adjacent to the free edges of the angle curb. The cleat f is spaced from the roof and wall by means of thin nuts k and the lower end of the cleat is provided with an open-ended slot for engaging the end of the bolt. so that its engagement with the bolt is facilitated. Setscrews m locked by nuts n project through the cleat to bear on the roof-sheet to prevent the cleat rocking. The holes on the roof and wall sheets for the bolt may be reinforced by patch plates p. |
