<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition having flame retardancy and mechanical property required for electric wire and cable, a high volume resistivity and excellent insulating property and to provide an electric wire and cable using the composition as a coating material. <P>SOLUTION: The insulating resin composition comprises based on 100 pts.mass of a resin component containing an ethylene based copolymer or an ethylene based copolymer with an acrylic rubber, 100-300 pts.mass of metal hydrates and 0-70 pts.mass of a melamine cyanurate compound, wherein the resin component includes 1-30 mass% of a graft copolymer having a side chain composed of a polymer having (meth)acrylate and (meth)acrylic acid as monomer components introduced in the polyolefin and/or the ethylene based copolymer, and the electric wire coated with the insulating resin composition is provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
