PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an unfavorable influence of ultraviolet light emitted from a light source on a fluid injection head. SOLUTION: The fluid injector includes: a conveying member for conveying a medium to a conveying direction; a fluid injection head which has nozzles to inject fluid against the medium and can move to the outside beyond the conveying member in an intersecting direction intersecting with the conveying direction; the light source which is employed for irradiating the fluid with the ultraviolet light to cure the fluid and can move beyond the conveying member in the intersecting direction; and a shading plate which is provided outside the conveying member in the intersecting direction and prevent the ultraviolet light emitted from the light source from going to the fluid injection head.
