Method for detecting a xenoantigen in fixed tissues used as bioprosthetic replacements

A method for determining a xenoantigen, in particular the ±-Gal epitope, in fixed xenogeneic tissues, in particular glutaraldehyde-fixed tissues is herein described. The method disclosed can be used in the manufacture of bioprosthetic replacements for use in the human clinical field. This method is applicable in the control and validation of "±-Gal free" tissues intended for the production of bioprostheses for clinical use.
