Electric connector

An electric connector has: a connector housing (3) inside which pins (2) are housed and which has at the front an insertion portion (3 A ) into which a counterpart connector (40) is inserted, and at the rear a coupling portion (3 B ); a sealing member (35); a rear holder (6) which has at the front a mating cavity (6c) that is fixed onto the coupling portion, and at the rear a cover installation portion; and a rear cover (20) which is mounted to the cover installation portion via sliding motion. Latching portions (11,11) are provided in locations adjacent to the cover installation portion, engaging portions (5) into which the latching portions (11,11) engage are provided in the holder mounting portion of the connector housing (3), and the sliding motion of the rear cover (20) is blocked if the latching portions (11,11) are in a state of non-engagement with the engaging portions (5) when the rear holder (6) is mounted to the connector housing (3). Thanks to such a structure, an electric connector is provided that can proactively detect misassembly of the connector components when the rear cover is fitted.
