PURPOSE: A battery charging method and an apparatus thereof are provided to perform charging and booting correctly even in over-discharge state. CONSTITUTION: According to a battery charging method, a charging start step (230) starts to charge if connection of a charger is sensed after booting of a terminal starts. A power adjustment step (240) performs one of consumed power downward adjustment or charging power upward adjustment of the terminal, if the charger connection is sensed after booting of the terminal starts. A power return step (260) returns more than one of the adjusted consumed power and the adjusted charging power of the terminal to a basic value, if ending condition of the power adjustment is satisfied.
