ACETABULAR CUP FOR ARTIFICIAL HIP JOINT

PURPOSE: An acetabular cup for an artificial hip joint is provided to be firmly combined to an acetabulum in the initial stage and permanently combined by bone binding after the initial fixing. CONSTITUTION: An acetabular cup(100) for an artificial hip joint comprises a body(110) and a screw thread unit(130). The body has a hemispherical trajectory on its outer surface. The body has an upper end unit having the shortest diameter of a cross section and a lower end unit having the longest diameter of a cross section. The screw thread unit is formed on the outer surface with a first height in a direction toward the upper end unit from the lower end unit. The bottom surface of the screw thread unit is located in the inside of the semi-circular trajectory and a free end of the screw thread unit is located in the outside of the semi-circular trajectory.
