PURPOSE: A chain is provided to improve the durability of a chain and a chain guide by reducing the abrasion of a link plate and a connection pin. CONSTITUTION: A chain (100) comprises a plurality of guide columns (101), a plurality of non-guide columns (102), and a plurality of connecting pins (103). A guide column comprises a plurality of link plates (110) and a pair of guide plates (130). A non-guide column comprises a plurality of second link plates (120) and is arranged in the width direction of the chain. A connecting pin bendably connects the guide column to the non-guide column which are adjacent to each other in the longitudinal direction of the chain. The first and second link plates comprise a sliding contact link plate. The rear surface of the sliding contact link plate comprises a sliding contact part which slidingly comes in touch with the driving surface of a shoe.
