METHOD OF SIMULTANEOUS REMOVAL OF NITROGEN AND SULFUR OXIDES FROM FLUE GASES

A method of simultaneous removal of nitrogen and sulfur oxides from flue gases consists in spraying into the flue gases of ammonia or reactants containing ammonia, treating gases with ultraviolet radiation. Ammonia or reagents containing ammonia are sprayed into the flue gases under the temperature of 300 to 360 K at a ratio of sprayed ammonia to its stoichiometric amount in the range of 0.8-0.9 and the treatment of gases is carried out by ultraviolet radiation with a wavelength in the range of 160 - 190 nm and intensity of 5-10 mW/cmto form sulfate-nitrate salts of ammonium, capture of formed compounds upstream of a chimney by wet cleaning of flue gases.
