PURPOSE: An image processing apparatus, a device for expandibility, a display system including thereof, and a control method is provided to mount the upgrade device on the image processing apparatus, thereby performing an improved image processing process. CONSTITUTION: If an upgrade device (200) is connected, an upgrade device connection unit (160) transmits at least one of an input signal or a first output signal of an image processing unit (130) from a TV (100) to the upgrade device. The upgrade device connection unit receives a second output signal which is outputted from the upgrade device to the TV. If the upgrade device is not connected to the upgrade device connection unit, a display unit (170) displays an image based on the first output signal. If the upgrade device is connected to the upgrade device connection unit, the display unit displays an image based on the second output signal.
