LIQUID-CRYSTALLINE COMPOSITE AND A PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION THEREOF

The invention relates to nanotechnology and can be used for the preparation of nanotube dispersions in crystalline liquids. A liquid-crystalline composite comprises nematic liquid-crystalline component as matrix and carbon nanotubes as dopant at concentration of 0.001-0.1 wt. % of liquid-crystalline component weight. Additionally it comprises montmorillonite in amount of 10-30 wt. % of carbon nanotubes weight. A process for the preparation of liquid-crystalline composite involves dispergation of carbon nanotubes in liquid-crystalline component at concentration of 0.001-0.1 wt. % of liquid-crystalline component weight using ultrasound. Montmorillonite is preliminarily added to liquid-crystalline component at concentration of 0.0001-0.03 wt. % of liquid-crystalline component weight and treated with ultrasound.
