PURPOSE: A polarized light irradiation device is provided to prevent degradation of illumination of polarized light by removing white turbidity due to siloxane compound on the surface of a polarization device. CONSTITUTION: An optical emission unit (2) has a rod shaped lamp (21) and a gutter shaped mirror (22). A polarization device unit (80) polarizes light from a light source arranged by spreading a plurality of polarization plates. An air blower (30) delivers air cooled by a cooler (20) to the optical emission unit of the mirror through a ventilation path. A nozzle (3) is installed between the mirror and polarization device unit and supplies clean dry air.
