PURPOSE: A system simultaneously providing the internet and a general telephone service is provided to offer a high-speed internet service regardless of connected distance, thereby reducing network maintenance cost. CONSTITUTION: A system simultaneously providing the internet and a general telephone service includes hybrid optical modems (30,40), a hybrid gateway (100), and a hybrid management system (200). The hybrid optical modem interfaces with a general telephone or a data terminal, multiplexes a general telephone packet and a data packet into an Ethernet passive optical network (E-PON) signal, and demultiplexes an E-PON signal into a general telephone packet and a data packet. The hybrid gateway is coupled with the hybrid optical modem, separates a data packet and a general telephone packet from an E-PON signal multiplexed at the hybrid optical modem, and multiplexes a data packet and a general telephone packet into an E-PON signal and transmits to the hybrid optical modem. The hybrid management system is coupled with a local exchange or a broadband convergence network (BcN) exchange and transmits a general telephone packet received from the hybrid gateway to the local exchange or the BcN exchange. |
