PURPOSE: A scene composition information transmission and reception apparatus and method send in a multimedia communications system are provided to be usefully utilized if scene composition information is consumed in a broadcasting environment by transmitting and receiving the scene composition information including multimedia reset information in the multimedia communications system. CONSTITUTION: Composition information (CI) provides reset information of a multimedia service and maintains the continuity of a media in the conversion of a scene or a domain and independently composes and updates a part of the scene. A scene composition information transmitter produces scene composition information through a scene composition information producing unit and transmits the scene composition information through a transmission unit. A scene composition information receiver receives the scene composition information trough a reception unit and provides the multimedia service using the scene composition information through an output unit.
