PURPOSE: An idle power interruption/standby power interruption device completely interrupts the operating and standby power of peripheral devices when a personal computer is or is not operational as well as cuts off the idle operating and standby power of the personal computer and the peripheral devices automatically. CONSTITUTION: A box-shaped main body (10) has a square box shape and protects a device from external pressure. A power supply unit (20) rectifies AC power, steps down the output from the AC power to DC power, supplies the power to a built-in multi-outlet and into the box-shaped main body. The built-in multi-outlet (30) supplies necessary power to peripherals such as a monitor, a speaker, and a modem. A human body sensor (40) senses the movements of a user using the peripherals. Connected to one side of the built-in multi-outlet, a power measuring instrument (50) measures the amount of power used by a personal computer, an power object, and the peripherals on a real time basis and displays the measuring results on a screen.
