FIELD: engines and pumps.SUBSTANCE: exhaust gas cleaning system of ICE with hydrocarbon feed valve 15 arranged in exhaust duct and exhaust gas cleaning catalyst 13. In case said valve 15 feed hydrocarbons in 5 second interval intermediate reducing compound is formed in catalyst 13. Said intermediate compound is used for NOtreatment. In engine operation required amount of NOreducing intermediate compound is calculated. Said required amount of NOreducing intermediate compound is set by control of hydrocarbon feed volume and rate.EFFECT: higher rate of carbon dioxide cleaning at high temperature of catalyst.13 cl, 44 dwg
