A backlight unit and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) using the backlight unit are provided to facilitate color mixture using LEDs(Light Emitting Diode) and reflecting cups for mixing lights generated from the LEDs and reflecting the mixed light to an LCD panel to reduce the thickness of the backlight unit and the LCD using the backlight unit. A backlight unit includes a point light source(110), a printed circuit board(118), and a plurality of wires(146). The printed circuit board provides a driving voltage to the point light source through a first connector(118a). One end of Each of the plurality of wires is coupled to the point light source and the other end of the plurality of wires is connected to a second connector. The plurality of wires is connected/disconnected to/from the printed circuit board through the first and second connectors. The backlight unit further includes a reflecting cup in which the point light source is located. |
