PURPOSE: A haptic effect generation method and a haptic support system using an eccentric rotating mass (ERM) actuator are provided to freely replace other actuators based on costs, usability and performance characteristic without giving badness to a haptic feedback provided to a device and without requiring manual reconfiguration costing much. CONSTITUTION: A controller is connected to an ERM actuator (18), receives counter electromotive force of the ERM actuator and receives a haptic effect signal including a parameter. The parameter is a voltage amplitude level as a time variant function. The controller varies the voltage amplitude level based on the counter electromotive force and applies the varied haptic effect signal to the ERM actuator. The controller measures rise time of the ERM actuator using the counter electromotive force and varies the voltage amplitude level based on the rise time.
