A liquid crystal display device and a driving method thereof are provided to use three color sub pixels as a single color sub pixel, as a white pixel, or for a low power mode to reduce power consumption without drop of picture quality. A liquid crystal display device comprises a main window(31), and a section window(32). The main window is installed with multiple liquid crystal cells having a matrix shape and displays images by a permeable or semi-permeable method. The section window displays information by using 3 color sub pixels as a single color sub pixel or as a white pixel. A color filter of the section window is formed to use all three color sub colors as a single color sub pixel or a white pixel. Driving frequency of the section window is lower than normal driving frequency. |
