BI-FACIAL SOLAR CELL AND METHOD FOR FABRICATING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A bi-facial solar cell and a method for fabricating the same are provided to prevent the recombination of minority carriers due to defective transportation to the surface or sides of a substrate by forming a front surface field layer and a back surface field layer on the upper and lower parts of a substrate. CONSTITUTION: A p-type emitter (404) is formed on a part of an n-type substrate (401). A front surface field layer (406) and a back surface field layer (407) are formed in the upper and lower parts of the substrate respectively. A passivation layer (210) is formed in the front and back surfaces of the substrate respectively. An anti-reflection layer (220) is formed on the passivation layer. A front electrode (230) connected to the p-type emitter is formed on the front surface of the substrate. A back electrode (240) connected to the back surface field layer is formed on the back surface of the substrate.
