The method involves depositing a decorative pattern e.g. digital sign, by screen printing on a transfer pad (4), and re-depositing the decorative pattern on an area of a glass bottle to be decorated from the transfer pad. The decorative pattern is re-deposited by application of an outer surface (13) of the transfer pad with pressure on the area of the glass bottle, and rotation of the transfer pad relative to the glass bottle, so as to enable transfer of the decorative pattern from the transfer pad to the area of the glass bottle. An independent claim is also included for an installation for decorating a glass bottle.
