A mobile terminal and a user interface method using the same are provided to prevent a side up/down button or a navigation key from being troubled by frequent uses. A rotary input device outputs an input signal by using an induction current generated according to a rotation operation. A controller recognizes the signal provided from the input device and outputs a corresponding control signal. Magnets(111,112) having mutually opposite polarities are disposed at a certain distance to form a certain magnetic field. A rotor(120) is positioned in the magnetic field formed by the magnets. A coil(130) is arranged at the rotor. A comparator(140) compares the voltage according to the induction current generated at the coil according to rotation of the rotor with a reference voltage, and outputs the result. |
