The present invention concerns a method of ambiguity resolution in distance measurements implemented by a radar system using at least pulse-Doppler radar emitting a signal comprising two periodic trains of N pulses, and receiving signals backscattered by a moving target. According to the invention, the repetition periods of the two trains of pulses emitted by the radar are different and the method comprises: - A step of separating the two pulse trains of the received signal into two sub-signals each comprising a train of N pulses, - A step of removing the contribution of the parasitic echoes from the clutter of each of the sub-signals, - A successive step of testing the various hypotheses about the possible rank of ambiguity.
