[Problem] To provide: a solid electrolytic capacitor which is capable of reducing leakage current and increasing capacitance; and a method for producing the solid electrolytic capacitor. [Solution] This solid electrolytic capacitor is provided with an anode (1) comprising a sintered body of metal particles of tantalum or an alloy thereof, a dielectric layer formed on the surface of the anode (1), and an electrolyte layer formed on the dielectric layer. The solid electrolytic capacitor is characterized in that: the capacitance value (CV) of the metal particles is at least 100000 muF.V/g; the anode (1) comprises a surface region (A) comprising the surface of the anode (1) and the vicinity thereof, and an interior region (X) on the inside from the surface region (A); and the average film thickness of the dielectric layer in the surface region (A) is thicker than the average film thickness of the dielectric layer in the interior region (X). |
