The motor car (10) has detection devices (16,16a) for detecting a trailer hitch vertical load acting on motor car over the trailer coupling (14) which couples trailer (22) at motor car. A transfer device (18) transmits the detected vertical load data to a control unit (20). The control unit locks a parking brake (12) if vertical load data exceeds preset vertical load value.
