Abstract A method of growing trees in an arid or semi-arid area is disclosed. The method comprises steps of selecting seeds of a desired species of tree, subjecting the seeds to a treatment for a predetermined period of time to enhance viability and/or germination rate, optionally storing dry treated seed, and subsequently placing at least one treated seed in a growing medium container. The growing media container has an open top and open bottom which is half inserted into the ground. The container is half filled with growing media, and provides a protective wall above the ground level, to resist or deflect material flowing along the ground. 2:a u.5 |
