PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charge control device that shortens a total required time for charging by delaying the timing of switching from constant current charging (quick charging) to constant voltage charging and shortening the subsequent period of constant voltage charging accordingly.SOLUTION: In the charge control device having a charge control circuit for controlling a charging transistor, and a protection circuit for turning off a first controlling switch element to block a discharge current if a secondary battery is overdischarged and turning off a second controlling switch element to block a charging current if the secondary battery is overcharged, the charge control circuit has the function of controlling the charging transistor to apply a constant charging current until a voltage on the secondary battery side reaches a predetermined value and switching to control of applying a charging current at a constant voltage after the voltage on the secondary battery side reaches the predetermined value, and a positive terminal voltage and a negative terminal voltage of the secondary battery are supplied as monitoring voltages to the charge control circuit.
